Autumn Term 2016
This term, Class Five will be studying Ancient Greece and its influence on the western world. We will be investigating the timeline and four main periods of the Greek Empire. We will explore different types of historical sources and evaluate their usefulness.
We will be learning about trading and design, researching lifestyle and clothing, and studying key Ancient Greek buildings. We will also be looking at Alexander the Great and the empire under his leadership. In addition, we will be finding out about the historical background of Aesop and his fables.
While learning about democracy, we will look at the roles and rights of free men, women, children and slaves in Ancient Greece. Of course, we will also look at the Olympics and its modern legacy.
